Presenting the Attraction and Retention Strategy for Newfoundland and Labrador’s Forest Industry

We had the pleasure of presenting the Newfoundland and Labrador Forestry Attraction and Retention Strategy yesterday alongside Peter Robichaud from the Canadian Woodlands Forum on behalf of High Performance Logging.

This important strategy identifies a number of key opportunities to help foster a healthy, sustainable and competitive workforce in the Newfoundland and Labrador Forestry Sector.

Attendees of the workforce summit heard a variety of presentations throughout the day that touched on promoting local forest products, immigration opportunities and the role of forests in healthy economies and communities.

The energy in the room was high and all conversations circled around the importance of collaboration within the sector as the strategy rolls out.

We would like to thank Bill Dawson and Robin Philpott from the Newfoundland and Labrador Forest Innovation Association for the opportunity to present to their members, as well as Minister Derrick Bragg and Minister Gerry Byrne for their continuous support of the strategy.

We are eager to begin deploying the strategy and look forward to future discussions surrounding the advancement of Newfoundland and Labrador’s forest industry.
